Lagos state Commissioner for health, Prof. Akin Abayomi had advised participants at the African Magic viewers’ Choice Award, AMVCA which held on 14th March, 2020 to observe strict self-isolation as they may have come in contact with an individual who tested positive for coronavirus.

As a result of this advise, some celebrities have been revealing their personal efforts to contain the spread, one of such celebs is the winner of Big Brother Naija 2019, Mercy Eke.

Mercy took to her Twitter account and disclosed that she has been adhering strictly to the directives from health officials in line with the revelation that they might have been exposed to contracting the virus.

She wrote; “Already taking this seriously, our health is wealth. let’s all do our best to save our country ”

Looks like perruzi, fan React as Davido unveils the face of his baby.

Early this year, there were lots of controversies surrounding the relationship between Nigerian superstar artist, David Adeleke better known as Davido, his fiancee, Chioma best known as Chef Chi and Davido Music Worldwide, Tobechukwu Victor Okoh better known as Perruzzi.Reports from a top controversial Nigerian journalist claimed Chioma was cheating on Davido with Perruzi, and their relationship was going through a stormy sea.

Well, Davido eventually unveiled baby Ifeanyi’s face, and he’s really all cute but the fans can’t stop at that.

Five Nigerian police Arrested for Lagos killing

Five police officers have been arrested in connection with the shooting that led to the death of one 27 years old Maliki Mohammed in Oshodi area of Lagos State on Friday.
Two other persons were reported to be injured in the incident, which occurred at Crest Inn Club, Balogun Street.
The police officers, arrested on the order of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, are Inspector Orubu Olusola; Inspector Apalowo Ola; Inspector Kasai Sule;
Sergeant Momoh Ogwuche and Sergeant Adoga Collins.
They are all attached to Akinpelu Division and under the supervision of DSP Oloko Wale, the Divisional Crime Officer and ASP Adamu Babajo, the Divisional Operations Officer.
In a statement issued by the spokesman of the Lagos Police Command, DSP Bala Elkana, the incident occurred at about 8.30 pm.
In their statement, the team said officers were at the club in response to a complaint made by one Makinde Omowunmi Abibat of 9 Olaore Street, Police Station, that she was assaulted in the club.
Mafoluku, Oshodi, at Akinpelu Police Station, that she was assaulted in the club.
The police officers said while trying to effect an arrest, they were attacked by some hoodlums which necessitated their use of firearms.

However, the police authority said their action fell short of the provision of Force Order 237 which defined the circumstances in which a police officer would be justified to use his firearms and the use of force.
Elkana stated that the police officers involved were already facing internal disciplinary
proceedings known as Orderly Room Trial at the Provost Department of the Command.
If found guilty, they will be handed over to conventional court for prosecution.
Members of the public, the police said, would be updated on the outcome of the Orderly Room Trial.

Meanwhile, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO; the Divisional Crime Officer, DCO and the Divisional Operations Officer were issued official queries for lack of supervision.
So far, eleven suspects were said to have been arrested in connection with the attack on the team as Odumosu has ordered a thorough investigation into the case.
The CP was said to have empathized with the families of the deceased person and those injured.
He called on the people of Lagos State to remain calm as he assured that justice would not only be done but will be seen to be done.

LASG evacuate lion from a private residence to Lekki zoo

The operatives of the Lagos State Task Force Monday succeeded in moving the lion found at a private home around Victoria Island to a zoo in Omu Resorts, Lekki.


Chairman of the Agency, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi disclosed that the exercise was carried out in conjunction with officials of the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and medical personnel from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine,University of Ibadan.

Speaking further, Egbeyemi said that Dr. Ogunmo Bamidele, who led the medical team from the University of Ibadan, had to tranquilised the lion thrice before evacuation.

He confirmed that the Agency responded to a petition from residents while investigations revealed that the lion was brought in from Cameroun by an Indian two years.

“Immediately I got the petition, I deployed my officers to the house at No. 229, Muri-Okunola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, where they kept a close watch for more than 72 hours before the lion was finally removed today”, Egbeyemi said.

The Chairman assured residents that the owner of the lion will face the full wrath of the law, warning residents to abstain from harbouring wild animals that endanger the lives of others.

“In as much as we appreciate residents around Victoria Island for their quick action, we urge every member of the public to be observant in their immediate environment and report any strange or unusual activity to appropriate government authority for prompt action”, he stated.

The Director, Veterinary Services, Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Macaulay Rasheed, also advised members of the public to stop rearing wild animals at private homes in order to avoid unnecessary attack and contagious animal diseases.
