The consumption of banana and groundnut is one of the factors contributing to ulcer,pile, tumors,kidney and liver damage and a host of other related diseases.

I know you would be asking what is wrong with this combination that millions of Nigerians enjoy everyday. News flash, there is a whole lot that can happen to you if you continue with such combination.

This is because roasted groundnut is one of the hardest foods to digest. Before digestion, it has to pass through so many metabolic processes which ripe banana does not pass through.


It contains a mixture of all the chief nutrient molecules known as carbohydrates, protein and fat in large quantities. However, banana as a fruit does not need all these because it does not digest in the stomach. It goes straight to the ileum which is located at the small intestine waiting for excretion

Another reason why this food combination should not be taken is because groundnut takes between 4-5 hours to digest and leave the stomach. While banana requires less than 2 and a half hours and it doesn’t need to come in contact with bile acid which is the only thing capable of digesting fats that is contained in groundnuts as it is harmful for banana metabolism.

This wrong combination makes it difficult for groundnut to digest and thus makes it difficult for banana to travel to the ileum. Thus, when this struggle for digestion and passage to the ileum continues, the end metabolism is serious fermentation.

This fermentation produces large amount of acid which harms the liver,the kidney, the intestines and other vital organs in the body.
