South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa has given an assurance that the alleged killing of a Nigerian by security agents in the country will be looked into as a way of tackling it.
This is coming on the heels of the reported killing of a Nigerian by the country’s security personnel.
Ramaphosa stated this during a bilateral meeting with Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari on the sidelines of the ongoing TICAD 7 in Yokohama, Japan.
He said he feels sad about the development especially with the long-standing relationship between South Africa and Nigeria.
While noting that he had a fruitful meeting with Buhari, the South Africa leader says he hopes for positive outcomes as soon as possible.
According to reports, Buhari also met with his counterpart from Benin Republic Patrice Talon.
At the meeting, the two leaders discussed the closure of the Benin- Nigeria border which Talon says is causing hardship for his country.
Responding, Buhari promised to convene a meeting to review the situation.
