RESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION OF CYRIL RAMAPHOSA

Thousands of people gathered at Loftus Versveld in Tshwane to witness the swearing-in of President Cyril Ramaphosa on Saturday.

Coinciding with Africa Day, the ceremony was attended by high-profile delegates although noticeably absent was former president Jacob Zuma.

Ahead of the inauguration, several politicians wished him well.

EFF leader Julius Malema has sent a stern warning to President elect Cyril Ramaphosa, saying if he reappoints Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan – the red berets will be waiting for him in Parliament.

Ramaphosa was met by cheers as he took his oath of office.

Ramaphosa concluded his address by asking God to bless Africa.
