In a bid to make ends meet quickly with the belief that better opportunities lay in wait outside Nigeria, many desperate citizens caught in the web of looking for an #escaperoute have either ended up dead or gotten apprehended by the law enforcement agencies of other countries.
Another news making the rounds is that the operatives of the Kenyan Police have arrested 33 Nigerian over their alleged illegal stay in the country.
According to reports, the middle-aged Nigerian men were arrested on Thursday morning at Kasarani, a residential area in Nairobi, capital of Kenya. It was understood that the Nigerians were arrested in the residential area where they had been reportedly staying after arriving on different dates.
According to Peter Kimani, the police commanding officer of the sub-counties in Kasanrani, while speaking to journalists, the suspects were arrested by anti-narcotics detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
He said the suspects had been posing illegally as students of International University-Africa (USIU) and Kenyatta University (KU) and operating businesses “with the intention of selling drugs”.
How many Nigerians are outside the country today locked behind bars all because they decided to live a better life in another country through criminal means?
All of you wishing to travel outside Nigeria permanently, let me ask you this, WHAT’S YOUR PLAN? How do you plan to survive and escape the wrath of the Law?
Who told you there’s no way you can live a better life in Nigeria?
Is the NEXT level not making things better for you and me?
If you feel it isn’t, the only way to make things right is for us to make a change now.
Nigerians are known for their strong presence on social media but not their boldness, tenacity and fearlessness in standing up to politicians and the corrupt system even though their lives are at stake like their South African brothers.
But will rather die for the ones that corrupt the system and leave them hungry
So why bother complaining when Nigerians in diaspora get convicted of guilty crimes. It’s not like you got up from your chair and questioned the people in Government including yourself.
Whether you like it or not, irrespective of the tribe or religion, Nigerians will still be tagged as criminals in the world until you and I do something about it. If you feel otherwise, please feel free to use the comment section below and don’t forget to share.
