President Ramaphosa fires Tom Moyane as Sars commissioner

Retired Judge Robert Nugent found that Moyane does not have the character of a person fit to lead Sars and he should be removed from office.
PRETORIA – President Cyril Ramaphosa has fired embattled South African Revenue Service (Sars) commissioner Tom Moyane.
Ramaphosa has accepted the recommendation by Nugent that Moyane be axed. In an interim report filed at the end of last month, retired Judge Robert Nugent found that Moyane does not have the character of a person fit to lead Sars and said he should be removed from office as a matter of urgency.
Acting Sars commissioner Mark Kingon confirmed to Talk Radio 702 that Moyane had been fired.
